MythBusters Tackling The First-Person Shooter Conceit With Doom
In classic first-person shooters soldiers carry a dozen guns, some grenades, extra ammo, and a few health packs. MythBusters is going to see if that's a viable way to fight villainy.
You can check out a trailer for the episode below which airs January 31. In it, MythBusters hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage will try to navigate a recreated level from Doom (with the help of id’s Tim Willits) while carrying a number of weapons (including a chainsaw) and grabbing health packs. According to the Bethesda Blog, the whole episode will cover video game myths and won't be dedicated solely to Doom.
The episode will not, unfortunately, tackle the question of whether or not hell and demons exist and if they can be dispatched with weapons created by mortals. I assume they're saving that for next season.
The episode airs January 31 at 8:00 p.m. CT on Discovery Channel.
