Crota’s End Hard Mode Arrives Next Week In Destiny With A Slate Of New Weapons
The time has finally come, Guardians. Crota’s End gets its hard mode on January 21 at approximately 10 a.m. Pacific / 1 p.m. Eastern.
The more aggressive version of the Crota’s End raid is set at level 33. What’s that you say? Your gear only gets you to level 32. Well, they call it “hard mode” for a reason.
Thankfully, the rewards are plentiful. You’ve likely started seeing special and heavy weapons drop throughout the raid. They are Swordbreaker (shotgun), Light of the Abyss (fusion rifle), Black Hammer (sniper rifle), Song of Ir Yut (machine gun), and Hunger of Crota (rocket launcher).
Hard mode will yield primary weapons, though. Here they are, straight from Bungie:
Additionally, you’ll be able to get the Crux of Crota to upgrade Eidolon’s Ally (in turn upgraded from Husk of the Pit) to Necrochasm, an exotic auto rifle. You’ll also be able to get a new ship called Bane of the Dark Gods and a shader called Glowhoo.
Bungie says that hard mode has some new wrinkles that might confound even the most stalwart of Crota’s End veterans. Good luck.

I’m still waiting on one more drop (either a helmet or a chest piece) to be able to get to 32. I’m not sure if my character is ready for hard mode, but that isn’t likely to stop me from trying.
