by Andrew Reiner on Jan 14, 2015 at 02:35 AM

The unique paint-based shooter Splatoon was featured during this morning's Nintendo Direct conference. Nintendo talked about the hub that links the 4-on-4 multiplayer and single player modes. When you launch the game, you land in a plaza where you can communicate with other players.

You can also enter a shopping center run by a militaristic crab. The center holds a variety of stores that allow you to customize your characters. Purchased equipment can be switched at any time in the plaza. This includes weapons: You can carry three at a time. Your main, a sub/diversionary weapon, and a special weapon.
