Reader Discussion: Do You Prefer Resident Evil Now Or Pre-Resident Evil 4?

Resident Evil 4 changed the direction for the survival horror series dramatically. Before 2005 it had limited action and tank controls. After 2005 it had third-person shooter controls and lots of action. Which do you prefer?

Today marks Resident Evil 4's 10th anniversary and it prompts us to consider how much that game changed the series. Do you like the action-focused direction Resident Evil has taken following the release of Resident Evil 4? Or do you prefer the claustrophobic horror atmosphere of the first few Resident Evil games? Or do you hope for a world where both types of game can exist comfortably?
