There’s A New Mega Man Game, But You Won't Get To Play It

by Mike Futter on Jan 07, 2015 at 06:51 AM

This week, Capcom and South Korean developer Jenoi have released a new Mega Man game. Before you get your hopes up, we’re probably going to dash them with a few little words.

Rockman GoGo! is a mobile game featuring some of the series’ classic characters. The titular hero is joined by the original six robot masters and some more contemporary entries. And it’s an endless runner.

The title isn’t available here in North America (and may never be), but you can see it in action via the trailer below. Mega Man joins a long list of characters that have been put into unconventional scenarios for mobile titles.

We reached out to Capcom to find out of there is potential for Rockman GoGo to see a wider release. Unfortunately, the news isn't promising.

"This was only for South Korea," a representative told us via email. "We have no plans for the west at this time."

Our Take
Rayman has starred in an enjoyable endless runner, The Simpsons are in an extraordinarily successful mobile title, and Assassin’s Creed has appeared as a card game on pocket platforms. Mega Man certainly isn’t alone, but it’s safe to say that the fan base has grander aspirations for one of gaming’s most storied heroes.
