Planetside 2 PS4 Beta Launches January 20, Sign-Ups Still Open
Sony Online has announced the start date for the Planetside 2 beta on PlayStation 4. As promised the test will begin later this month.
The test will start with a few thousand players on January 20, with more waves added as the period progresses. Selection will take place chronologically related to when you signed up.
Earlier in the week, the registration form was out of order, but that has been fixed. If you haven’t yet voiced your interest, you can do that now.
Servers will be available in limited windows early on, with full availability implemented as time goes on. According to the FAQ, remote play on the Vita and touchpad integration will arrive alongside the game’s launch later this year.
PlayStation Plus is not required for Planetside 2, and it will be released as a free-to-play offering (just like on PC). For more on Planetside 2, you can read our previous coverage.

I’ve heard good things about Planetside 2, and I’m eager to see how the larger scale firefights play out. If you haven’t yet registered and have the slightest interest, there’s no harm in doing so.
