Players who recently donated to a Cards Against Humanity holiday promotion have been awarded ownership of one square foot of an island off the coast of Maine.

The creators of the popular card game purchased Birch Island recently, and then renamed it "Hawaii 2." Now, they have given away ownership - in 1x1 foot plots - to players who gave $15 to the company's "Holiday Bull----" campaign.

Players who donated received a series of mystery gifts, which ranged from a Cards Against Humanity card with their name on it to a copy the company's new Slap.45 game. The game makers also sent $250,000 to the Sunlight Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to transparency in politics and government.

However, now players own part of "Hawaii 2," and are free to use it for a "nondestructive purpose," with the rule that they must not harm any trees, and Cards Against Humanity hopes the island will be preserved as an untouched wilderness area.

Our Take
Cards Against Humanity is generally a pretty amusing company, and it's good to see they manage to do some good with all the money they are making.
