Hearthstone Arrives On Android Tablets In Select Territories

by Mike Futter on Dec 15, 2014 at 12:21 PM

Pull up a chair and warm your hands by the fire. Just be careful not to get your Android tablet too close.

Blizzard has announced that Hearthstone is now available on the Google Play store in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Anyone that signs in on an Android device will get a free card pack from the base set.

The worldwide rollout will be happening in the coming days on the Google Play store and Amazon’s Appstore. It’s available now on PC, Mac, and iPads. Phone versions for iOS and Android operating systems are still in progress.

Our Take
I suspect that you are wondering why Canada, Australia, and New Zealand often get games first. I’ve been told that they are good test environments for monetization and infrastructure before unleashing Europe and United States on the servers.

Thankfully, these test periods are often brief, so there’s still hope you can pretend to check your email while running the Arena during Christmas. Enjoy.
