If you own the new The Dark Below expansion for Destiny, you’ll have a present from Bungie when you next sign in. Make sure to stop by the Postmaster in the Tower.
Our gift included ascendent materials, black wax idols (for earning additional glimmer from the Hive), and two pieces of uncommon level 20 gear. You’ll also note that Vanguard and Crucible vendors are carrying better gear.
In order to purchase some of these items (which include significantly boosted light potential for reaching higher levels), you’ll need to spend a “commendation.” These are awarded for increasing your Vanguard or Crucible level to three, with another awarded each time you fill the meter.
To start the content, you’re going to want to visit Eris Morn to accept a quest. Once you rank up with her enough, you’ll be able to take on bounties. Eventually, you’ll be able to buy materials that allow you to upgrade weapons that she gifts.
