Another Halo: The Master Chief Collection Matchmaking Patch Out Now

by Mike Futter on Dec 08, 2014 at 04:08 AM

Halo: The Master Chief Collection got another tune up yesterday, as 343 Industries released a new patch for the title. The focus of this update is, again, matchmaking.

Included with the lengthy list of improvements to help you find a game (and stick with your party) are fixes to achievements that weren’t unlocking properly. You’ll also find stability enhancements, and improvements to specific titles. For instance, Halo 3’s movement input has been tweaked “specifically to resolve a deadzone issue which affected moving in a straight line.”

For those that like to play split-screen, you’ll no longer run the risk of ending up on different teams when matching online. Also, if your player rank was reset unexpectedly, that should be fixed now, too.

Next time you log in to Halo: The Master Chief Collection you’ll be prompted for a title update in order to apply these improvements. You can read the full patch notes on 343 Industries’ website.

Our Take
I continue to be mystified about how some of the items addressed in patches made it to release. There is a lot riding on the Halo 5 multiplayer beta right now, because consumer confidence is shaken.
