Free Limbo Xbox One Download Codes Are Out To Early Adopters

by Kyle Hilliard on Nov 23, 2014 at 07:06 AM

Yesterday, a message went out to Xbox One early adopters teasing a free Xbox One copy of PlayDead's Limbo. Today, a second message containing a download code has appeared.

We've gone from rumor the game was coming earlier this month, to a confirmation yesterday, to release today. Searching for the game on Xbox.com only returns listings for the Xbox 360 version. Searching on the Xbox One's store also does not returns results for the game, so it's possible the Xbox One version of the game is currently only available for early adopters.

One immediate change noticeable from the Xbox 360 version of the game is its achievements are now worth 1000 Gamerscore. We reached out to PlayDead yesterday for more information about the game and it said more details would come Monday or Tuesday, but it could confirm that the extra pitch-black section that appeared in every non-Xbox 360 version of the game would be appearing in the Xbox One version.

Our Take
As a big fan of Limbo, this is an awesome surprise. I'm always excited to have an excuse to replay Limbo.
