You Won’t Miss Out On Mewtwo If You Don’t Buy Both Versions Of Smash

by Mike Futter on Nov 20, 2014 at 04:08 AM

Last month, Nintendo announced that Super Smash Bros. favorite Mewtwo will be returning after launch. We might need to wait until Spring 2015 for him, but if you register both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game, he’s yours for free.

If you are just planning on playing on one platform, you won’t be left out in the cold. Nintendo’s European arm has confirmed that the cat-like Pokémon will be sold separately.

If you want him for free, you’ve got plenty of time. You need to register both versions by March 31, 2015.

And don’t forget about the soundtrack you can get for having both versions, too. You’ll need to be a bit quicker, with registrations required by January 13.

Our Take
While this isn’t a surprise, it’s nice that Nintendo is confirming this. Smash arrives tomorrow, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m excited. Be sure to check out our 8-player contests if you want to see the mayhem in action.
