Shadowgate Giving Away Old-School Games In Free Update

Shadowgate's developers continue releasing free content after the game's release. This weekend, players won't be getting anything new in the strictest sense, but it's still quite cool. On Saturday, an update will give people a chance to experience two incarnations of the original game, as well as another early title.

On Saturday, if you own the new version of the game, you can download the old version of the game, as well as the detective-themed adventure game Deja Vu: A Nightmare Comes True. The games come in both the 128k Mac and Apple IIgs versions, too.

Our Take
I'd guess that many of the people who are playing Shadowgate are familiar with the old games, but it may have been a while since they've played them. This update is a great opportunity for those returning players, as well as those who want to experience the original releases for the first time. Either way, it's hard to beat free stuff.
