Killzone Celebrates 10 Years With DLC, Streams, Giveaways, And Events

by Kyle Hilliard on Nov 05, 2014 at 03:03 PM

Killzone turned 10 years old Sunday and to celebrate, developer Guerrilla Games has a series of events, expansions, and DLC planned.

On the PlayStation blog Guerrilla community manager Jeroen Roding wrote, "When the original Killzone came out for PS2 on November 2nd, 2004, we had no way of knowing its red-goggled antagonists would go on to invade four additional console platforms, five more Killzone games, nine other PlayStation titles, a toy line, a novelization and a manga. But here we are, ten years later, and the world of Killzone is bigger than ever."

A special anniversary expansion pack adds new skins, voice packs, crosshair customizations, maps, and player card iron packs for use in Killzone Shadow Fall. You can grab the the pack for free here.

Guerrilla Games also has plans for Killzone 10th Anniversary live streams, special Killzone Shadow Fall and Mercenary Tournaments, an art exposition, and a number of giveaways. You can find out more about the plans by heading here.

Our Take
It's hard to believe Killzone has been around for 10 years. It's a series that has never fully grabbed my attention, but I have dabbled in a few entries in the series.
