Telltale’s Game Of Thrones Features Five Player-Controlled Protagonists

by Mike Futter on Oct 31, 2014 at 06:50 AM

Telltale vice president Steve Allison dropped some new hints about the studio’s upcoming Game of Thrones series. Unlike most of the studio’s past work, you won’t just be controlling one character. Tales from the Borderlands offers multiple points of view, but so does the studio's other upcoming project.

Speaking with the International Business Times, Allison says that you’ll be managing a number of characters from a single Game of Thrones family. “In Game of Thrones we're taking that multi-protagonist design even further with five playable characters from the same family whose choices affect everyone in the family, and that adds a whole new layer to things that we're really excited about,” he says.

Allison also reconfirms that the first episodes of both Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands will be out before the end of 2014. Our Take
While there is most certainly a “Telltale formula,” it’s great to hear that Game of Thrones will push that in a new direction. I’ve already had a chance to play Tales from the Borderlands and was surprised by some of the variations on a theme it brings to the table, also.
