Shadow Of Mordor’s Lord Of The Hunt DLC Introduces Mounted Warchiefs, New Monsters

by Mike Futter on Oct 30, 2014 at 04:36 AM

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (our review) is a competent action game enhanced by the compelling Nemesis system. Giving each Uruk captain and warchief a personality means that each encounter is going to be different from player-to-player. That variety is going to be enhanced in the first DLC pack.

Lord of the Hunt introduces beastmaster warchiefs that appear in combat on the backs of Mordor’s dangerous wildlife. The DLC also brings a new type of hulking Graug that spits venom, the Caragath, and the Ghul Horde.

There are story missions included as well, with Torvin the Dwarf playing a central role. For those that prefer side-quests, you’ll be able to engage in beast hunting missions and compete in leaderboard-driven challenges. Finally, the new Lord of the Hunt skin will be included.

The content will be available later this year as part of the season pass and individually. The season pass costs $24.99. The a la carte price for Lord of the Hunt has not yet been announced.
