10 Part Documentary Looks At The History Of Fantasia And Its Video Game Accompaniment

by Kyle Hilliard on Oct 28, 2014 at 03:55 PM

Timed alongside the release of Fantasia: Music Evolved last week, Harmonix and Disney have released a documentary showcasing how the game came together, as well as the legacy of the films.

You can find the first episode below, or you can watch it in a YouTube playlist here. Each episode is about three minutes long and features interviews with members of both Harmonix and Disney. Harmonix was approached by Disney to make the game, and the studio was given full access to the extensive archives and sketches that were gathered during the original film's creation.

Our Take
Even after its release, Fantasia: Music Evolved is still a strange somewhat mysterious project. This documentary series definitely showcases the enthusiasm that went into making the game, and its interesting, particularly, to hear about Disney's detailed archives.
