Weekend Warrior 10/17/2014

by Sam Stewart on Oct 17, 2014 at 02:00 PM

As the week comes to a close it sounds like plenty of the editors still plan on spending their weekends hacking and slashing their way through Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, or trying to survive the harsh world of The Evil Within. Also don't forget that Payday 2 is free on Steam this weekend, so get some friends together and rob some (virtual) banks!

Ben Hanson: I'm very excited to play games this weekend. I hope to wrap up Shadow of Mordor and continue to play Bayonetta 2. Outside of that, I'd love to get a co-op team together and tackle Payday 2 since it is free this weekend on Steam. I've always wanted to try it and this seems like the perfect way to convince friends to join me on this adventure. Have a good weekend!

Tim Turi : This weekend I’ll be diving back into Mordor to clean up the second half of the game. I’ve been having a blast carefully completing every side mission and hunting down every collectable. I’d also love to get back into Diablo III, which I recently started playing locally with a friend and we’re having a blast. Alien: Isolation is also begging to be explored, so that’s not far down my list.

Andrew Reiner: My weekend (and next week) go mostly to Sunset Overdrive. I also hope to watch a few more episodes of Agents of Shield on Blu-ray.

Jeff Marchiafava: My past couple weekends have been devoted to playing games for review, so I’m looking forward to just sitting down and playing a game for fun. I plan to pick up Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor after work, seeing as how no one can stop talking about it. I’ll also probably play more Spelunky, as the daily challenges are surprisingly addicting (even though I suck at them).

Dan Tack: Terra Battle on my phone, working on a new World of Warcraft character for Warlords of Draenor (Main tank whatttt!?), and hopefully The Evil Within. Inevitably there will be a Dota game or two in there somewhere.

Sam Stewart: I’ve got some family visiting this weekend so I probably won’t be playing games too much, but I always try to pull my brothers into a few games of Super Smash Bros. Melee if I can. If I do find some free time I’ll probably dig into The Evil Within, or try to get in on that Payday 2 Steam free weekend.

Matt Stolpe: I unfortunately didn’t get to make nearly as much headway as I wanted to on Alien: Isolation last weekend, so I’ll probably make that my mission this go around. I’ll also spend a good deal of time watching Jason and Sam play Evil Within because I’m a total creep.

Jason Dafnis: I’m going to knuckle down on The Evil Within. Sam tells me I’m going to git gud, but I feel like I’m just gonna git spooped
