Report: Warner Bros. Chooses Night At The Museum Director For Minecraft Movie

by Mike Futter on Oct 16, 2014 at 09:33 AM

In February, Warner Bros. picked up the rights to make a movie based on Mojang’s hit indie sandbox title, Minecraft. Today, the studio has announced that Night at the Museum director Shawn Levy has been chosen to lead the project.

Levy would be working with producers Roy Lee and Jill Messick to bring to game to the big screen. Since Minecraft doesn’t have a plot, it’s impossible to even suggest how this adaptation will be handled.

Since Warner Bros. picked up the rights, much has changed for Mojang and Minecraft. The Swedish developer was purchased by Microsoft for $2.5 billion.
