Get A Free Pair Of In-Game Headphones For Sunset Overdrive By Blowing Stuff Up

by Mike Futter on Oct 16, 2014 at 06:21 AM

Sunset Overdrive is out in 12 days, but you can start outfitting your character now. Microsoft and Insomniac have opened up Walter’s Workshop, showing off real-world versions of in-game weapons and traps.

You can check out the TNTeddy, Roman Candle, Hack-n-Slay, and Pyro Geyser as they each blow up, slash, and ignite four different targets. You’ll also be able to see how those weapons work in-game.

Spend enough time in the workshop, and you’ll get a code for a unique pair of headphones that you can wear when the game is out on October 28. For more, check out our preview from Gamescom.

Our Take
The weapons in Sunset Overdrive seem silly, but watching them blow up inanimate objects (or slice them or light them on fire) is a bit amusing. The TNTeddy might not be practical, but it clearly gets the job done. And even if you think this is goofy, you do get an in-game item for checking it out.
