Humble Bundle Teams With Mozilla For A Package Of Browser Games, Including FTL

by Mike Futter on Oct 14, 2014 at 09:47 AM

Browser gamers haven’t always had the best reputation, but with the advent of titles like Card Hunter, that’s started to change. Now, Humble Bundle and Mozilla are teaming up for a package of games to be played in your browser (Firefox and Chrome). No plugins are required and you’ve probably heard of one or more of these.

The titles are powered by asm.js, a form of javascript that has been used to run Epic Citadel (the precursor to Infinity Blade) in a browser. It can support Unity, Unreal Engine 3, and other less popular engines all without the help of an external client.

The games included in the bundle at the base “pay what you want” level are:

  • Super Hexagon
  • Aaaaa…!!! for Awesome
  • Osmos
  • Zen Bound 2
  • Dustforce DX

Paying more than the average (currently $4.24) will also get you:

  • Voxatron
  • FTL: Faster than Light
  • One other, yet to be announced title

Finally, if you contribute $8 or more, you’ll get Democracy 3. Charities included in this bundle are the Mozilla Foundation, Maker Education Initiative, and CodeNow. The bundle will be live for two weeks, ending on October 28.
