Minecraft Already Running On Windows Phones, "But There's Still Much To Do"

When it was announced that Microsoft had purchased Minecraft developer Mojang, everyone's first assumption was that the game would finally come to Windows Phone, and the game's port is well on its way.

Minecraft's lead developer Jens Bergensten recently assured everyone that Minecraft: Pocket Edition is on its way to Windows Phone, though there is still much work to be done.

Our Take
This is no surprise, but a welcome confirmation. The Windows Phone platform may not be as popular as Android or iPhone, but it's a good system. I don't know if Minecraft will inspire any new adopters, but current user will certainly be happy to finally have the game on mobile.
