Weekend Warrior 10/10/2014

by Jason Dafnis on Oct 10, 2014 at 02:00 PM

We here at Game Informer are still stuck on Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Smash Bros., while being predated by a xenomorph in Alien: Isolation is an endearing experience to some of us. Plus, Dan and Tim are being intentionally secretive and Stolpe's lying to himself again. What are your plans for this weekend?

Tim Turi:
This weekend is filled with lots of awesome new games. After I finish playing a game for review I can’t talk about yet, I plan to dive back into Mordor. I’ve been having a blast dismantling and dismembering the ranks of Sauron’s Uruks and growing into a more powerful ranger/wraith creature. I also need to dive into Alien: Isolation (I just rewatched the original Alien for preparation and I’m stoked). I also plan to sneak in some Smash Bros. multiplayer for good measure.

Matt Kato:
Like most people, I imagine, I've got a full weekend slate with Shadow of Mordor and Alien: Isolation. I'm also going to throw some FIFA into the mix. I wonder if FIFA's Seasons matchmaking has settled down enough that the better players have appropriately moved up the ladder and away from the lower-star tiers where I belong.

Dan Tack:
Terra Battle on my phone and Heroes of the Storm alongside a lot of time on a certain review.

Kim Wallace:
I’m determined to finish up Shadow of Mordor this weekend. I’ve been so addicted that I’m considering going all out and completing 100% of the world. Other than that, NBA 2K15 has been taking up a lot of my time, you know, when the servers actually work. I’m really digging GM mode and I want to see what hilarious antics I can cook up in MyPlayer.

Kyle Hilliard:
It's my daughter's birthday this weekend, so it's all about her – which means it's basically no different than most days except this time there will be presents and cake and more My Little Pony stuff than usual.

Matt Stolpe:
I plan on spending the weekend facing down a monster that’s haunted my nightmares since I was six years old. I haven’t made much headway in Alien: Isolation so far, but what I have played has been anxiety-filled and unnerving. I’m certainly going to need to break the tension with a few matches of Smash Bros. 3DS, especially now that I’ve gotten over that game’s occasionally awkward controls. Non-game related plans include a possible art crawl, a Total Slacker/Paws show, and an afternoon run I’ll forget about right after I write this.

Jason Dafnis:
Backlogging is the name of the game for poor interns. Like last weekend, I’ll find myself trudging through Alice. I might take advantage of this weekend’s unlocked Xbox Live Gold to finally get the ball rolling on some Grand Theft Auto V multiplayer. Let’s hear it for last-gen.
