Battlefield 4 Premium Edition Coming October 21

by Joe Juba on Oct 08, 2014 at 07:04 AM

EA and DICE have announced a new way to purchase Battlefield 4. The new edition includes all of the expansion packs, plus some other goodies to entice players to re-enlist.

Dubbed Battlefield 4 Premium Edition, this version includes all of the multiplayer and single-player content of the original, plus the five expansion packs (which includes the currently unreleased Final Stand). It also grants owners priority positions in server queues, comes with 12 Gold Battlepacks, and has extra personalization options.

Battlefield 4 Premium Edition costs $59.99, and releases on October 21 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and PC.

Our Take
Battlefield 4 had a troubled launch, but remains a popular shooter now that server situation has stabilized. While the premium edition provides a good opportunity for hold-outs to jump in, the $59.99 price tag is a bit of a surprise. Even with additional content, the game is a year old, so I would have expected a bit more of a break. It's also strange that there is no Xbox 360 version of the game, especially since the PS3 isn't being left out.
