Ubisoft Opens Office In Russia To Provide Community Development, Support

by Mike Futter on Oct 02, 2014 at 07:07 AM

Ubisoft is making a push into Russia with the opening of a new business office in Moscow. The new team will provide community development and support to Russian customers, including a new Ubisoft YouTube channel for the territory.

Ubisoft cites anticipated significant growth in the Russian market over the coming years as the reason for the move. The publisher also notes that Russia logged the most active players during a beta test for The Crew.

The office will be led by Olga Lazareva, who previously headed up EA’s business development operations in the territory. Ubisoft is now present in 30 countries, with more than 40 production and business offices around the world.

Our Take
Despite the political instability in the region, Russia is a growing market for games. Given Ubisoft’s presence around the world, this move makes a lot of sense and will enable the publisher to better serve a community that will be even more important in the years to come.
