The full list includes an impressive collection of very funny people. Jason Sudeikis stars as Red (a bird with anger management issues), Josh Gad plays the fast bird Chuck, Danny McBride plays Bomb, Bill Hader plays the villain, Maya Rudolph plays a character named Matilda, and Peter Dinklage plays the Mighty Eagle.

Supporting roles will be played by Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Tony Hale (Arrested Development), Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project), Hannibal Buress (Broad City), Cristela Alonzo, Jillian Bell (Workaholics), Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black), musician Romeo Santos, and Ian Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla of the Smosh YouTube channel fame.

Planned for release on July 1, 2016, Angry Birds is directed by Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis, neither of whom have directing credits, but have worked on films like Wreck-it Ralph, The Iron Giant, Frozen, Tangled, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs among many other animated films.

Our Take
My interest in this movie has risen quite a bit after the announcement of the cast. I am especially excited to see Hannibal Buress as part of the cast. He is probably my favorite stand-up comedian right now. You can check out one of my favorite bits of his by heading here.
