Yu-Gi-Oh Comes To 3DS With Zexal World Duel Carnival

by Kyle Hilliard on Sep 27, 2014 at 08:45 AM

The Yu-Gi-Oh series is available for the first time on 3DS.

The game has been available in Europe and Japan for quite some time, but it only released in North America, on the 3DS eShop, yesterday. You can find a launch trailer for the game below. The game is based on the first season of the newer Zexal series and features more than 40 duelists from the show.

Our Take
I recall Yu-Gi-Oh being huge when it first arrived in the United States. Its reach was comparable to Pokémon. It has always retained a dedicated group of fans, but I am curious if it could see a resurgence in popularity as the collectible card game genre begins to gain more fans thanks to titles like Hearthstone and the upcoming Pokémon card game release on iOS devices.
