Watch Dogs On Wii U Will Not Offer DLC

by Mike Futter on Sep 25, 2014 at 05:25 AM

Watch Dogs is finally headed to Wii U on November 18, but if you’re hoping for the most complete experience, you’re likely to be disappointed. The version appearing on Nintendo’s console won’t include content expanding on other versions.

The official Watch Dogs Twitter account confirmed the details yesterday. The Wii U version will not have any of the DLC that appears on the other five platforms.

This includes the new Bad Blood story campaign, an additional “digital trip,” the Untouchables Pack, and more weapons and single-player content. Interested in how we felt about Watch Dogs on other platforms? Check out our review.

Our Take
While disappointing, this isn’t terribly surprising. The Wii U versions of multiplatform games have missed DLC opportunities in the past . Especially since Ubisoft told us this was the last mature game the company will publish on the system, it’s no wonder that the expense of DLC porting was deemed too high for potential revenue.
