by Kyle Hilliard on Sep 20, 2014 at 10:45 AM

The issues were quickly resolved, but Destiny's servers were down temporarily earlier, and those who recently attacked PSN and Xbox Live are taking credit.

If you were having trouble connecting to Destiny – we had problems on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game – you may want to try logging on again. The group, which goes by @LizardSquad on twitter, tweeted that Destiny's errors were part of their first tests. The group took credit for errors affecting Call of Duty, as well.

We've reached out to Bungie for more information about the downtime, and for confirmation about the hacker group's involvement.

Our Take
I still don't have a grasp on what this group is trying to accomplish, exactly. It's also unclear if it truly is responsible for the recent downtimes across assorted video game servers. It may have a political agenda, but right now all it is proving is how good it is at creating inconveniences.
