Spec Out Your Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Character Right Now

by Mike Futter on Sep 18, 2014 at 07:46 AM

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is coming in just a few weeks, but Gearbox knows that some of its fans like to meticulously plan their character progression. To that end, there are some new tools available today to help you decide if you want to start with Athena, Wilhelm, Nisha, or Claptrap.

The Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel skill builder starts you with 48 points, and allows you to progress through one, two, or all three branches just like you’d already played the game for hours. Be sure to check out the bottom skill on Claptrap’s center tree (I Love You Guys).

Gearbox and 2K Australia will unleash the third full Borderlands title on October 14 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. For more, check out a trailer about the new features hosted by the very loud Mister Torgue and Sir Hammerlock.

Our Take
These extra steps that developers and publishers take always make me happy. I love the idea of min-maxing characters before starting and I’m one of those players that respecs depending on whether I’m solo or with friends. Plus, you get to check out some of the very funny skills (be sure to spend some time with Wilhelm, too).
