Wasteland 2 Arrives In Exactly One Month

by Mike Futter on Aug 19, 2014 at 10:51 AM

Over two years after a successful Kickstarter campaign that brought in nearly $3 million against a $900,000 goal in April 2012, Brian Fargo’s inXile Entertainment is ready to release Wasteland 2. In typical fashion, Fargo enthusiastically shared the news via Twitter.

Wasteland 2 will be arriving for PC on September 19. The original Wasteland was first released in 1988 for the Commodore 64, Apple II, and DOS. The game was so large that it shipped with a companion book. At points during the adventure, players were directed to read a passage.

Wasteland was the inspiration for Fallout and Fallout 2, and this sequel is a return to the gameplay popularized by those three titles. For more, check out our most recent preview of Wasteland 2.

Our Take
Wasteland 2 has been a long time coming, and those of us who played the original and the first two Fallout titles will need to reacclimatize to the harsh realities of post-nuclear life. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on this, and hope Fargo and company have recaptured the feel of my childhood adventures.
