EA: PopCap Is Working On A New Peggle Game, Madden To Mobile This Summer
On its first quarter 2015 earnings call, EA announced that PopCap is working on a number of new titles. Among them, is a new Peggle game for mobile.
"New FIFA and Madden NFL experiences are set to launch during Q2, as well as a big and really fun new update for The Simpsons: Tapped Out," said CEO Andrew Wislon. "A much-anticipated new Peggle game from PopCap is moving through a test period in preparation for launch, and our EA Mobile studios have four more exciting new experiences from other major franchises in development."
The last Peggle title, Peggle 2, is currently available on Xbox One, Xbox 360. The game has not made its way to other platforms yet. Whether this is a port of Peggle 2 or a new game altogether has not yet been discussed.
Our Take
Peggle remains one of my favorite PopCap titles, so I’m glad to hear that more is coming. I’m always surprised when announcements like this are made off-hand during earnings calls, but who am I to complain when it means more Peggle.
