Sega Brings Transformers Co-op Arcade Cabinet To Japan

by Kyle Hilliard on Jul 21, 2014 at 03:55 PM

Activision releases most of the Transformers game we see here in North America, but in Japan, Sega released an arcade exclusive Transformers on-rails shooter.

The game, subtitled Human Alliance, appears to take place in the Transformers film universe, but its human characters have changed appearance. In the trailer below, you will see a character named Sam, who doesn't look anything like Sam from the films.

You might be surprised to learn Transformers isn't the only high-profile license to have a recent arcade exclusive. We recently profiled a very successful Batman arcade game, which you can read about here.

Our Take
I would like to see this game, alongside the Batman arcade title linked above, available as inexpensive downloadable titles. They could even be free-to-play and require the purchase of credits if the developers chose – I just want the opportunity to try them out. There are so few arcades these days, that even if this Transformers game did come to North America, I don't know if I would be able to find one to actually play.
