Defenders of Eorzea Patch Available Now For Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

by Wayne Stainrook on Jul 08, 2014 at 08:51 AM

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has released a steady stream of solid content since its release last year, and the newly released patch Defenders of Eorzea, out now, continues that trend. Defenders of Eorzea brings a new chapter to the main campaign and a new spire of the Crystal Tower known as the Syrcus Tower, where players will face off against enemies like returning series villain Xande.

For a comprehensive list of all changes made in version 2.3, you can read all the patch notes on Final Fantasy XIV’s website. Alternatively, you can catch the highlights in this release trailer.

The trailer shows characters battling Primal Ramuh as he doles out lightning strikes with his staff, as well as the new desynthesis technique, an action used to break down and yield raw materials from crafted items, some of which can only be found through desynthesis. Perhaps most notable are the addition of the private chamber, demonstrated with a gleeful Lalafell furnishing his quarters, and the introduction of chocobo raising for training the mounts in your own private stable.
