Diablo III Auction Houses Disappear On June 24
With the introduction of Loot 2.0, Blizzard began the process of shedding the Diablo III auction houses. The marketplaces will close for good next week.
The auction houses have been closed for active trading since March, but they’ve been open for players to collect their items and gold. On June 24, they will disappear along with any unclaimed gear and funds.
In order to claim your goods, you’ll need to go to the “Completed” tab in the auction house window. Blizzard has sent emails to affected players, but if you play Diablo III on PC, it’s worth checking anyway just in case.
For more information, read up on Loot 2.0 and the Reaper of Souls expansion. If you’re a console player that hasn’t gotten a chance to try the latter, the Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 on August 19.

Blizzard’s post-launch work on Diablo III is one of the best recovery stories in gaming. Fans bristled at many of the changes, including the always online requirement and the auction houses. The former has been put to good use thanks to time-limited game wide buffs and the latter has been eliminated entirely. The patch-and-update culture isn’t always beneficial for gamers, but in this case, everyone is a winner.
