Criterion's Next Game Is An Adventure, But Not One Exclusively Behind The Wheel [Trailer Added]

by Mike Futter on Jun 09, 2014 at 09:38 AM

No, it's not Burnout, and it's not Need for Speed. Criterion's next game, which is in its very early stages, will give players control of vehicles on land and air.

In the very first look, we see Criterion bringing its love for speed into the skies with helicopters, planes, and wingsuits. There is some ground play, with ATVs, snowmobiles, snowboards, and, yes, cars. The entire game is in first person, marking a change for how racing titles traditionally approach perspective.

"Let's be very clear. This is early," said Patrick Soderlund of EA. The footage backs that up, as it's clear that Criterion is still working out exactly what this unnamed title will be.

We're excited to find out more as we speak with members of the team later this week.
