EA and Visceral have confirmed that the newest Battlefield is going to be different. It leaves the traditional military setting behind, bringing the war to the streets in a multiplayer cops-and-robbers shootout. It's an interesting idea for a game...but is it Battlefield?
Franchises are constantly evolving, and it can be restricting for developers to be bound by preconception and expectation – especially for a series with as much history as Battlefield. On the other hand, the changes in store for Hardline are extreme. What do you think about this move from the military warfront to the war on drugs for the Battlefield series? Are you excited for Hardline? Do the changes even matter as long as the game is good?
