Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate Slashes Up New-Gen Systems This Fall

Tecmo Koei is going all-in on the Musou series this year. The company released Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete for PlayStation 4, Hyrule Warriors is slated for release in Japan in August, and now another new-gen update is coming.

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate will arrive on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita this fall. The update to 2012’s more fantastical take on the hack-and-slash series features a number of new cross-over characters, including Soul Calibur’s Sophitia and Rachel from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

The story has been expanded, with new content that takes place after the story ends. New side missions and a duel mode that blends team fighting with card battles will be included, also.

PlayStation players will have access to cross-save and cross-play across all three platforms. PS3 and Vita versions will be available digitally only for $49.99 and $39.99 respectively. New-gen versions will be $59.99. 

Our Take
I know the Musou games get a bad rap for being repetitive, but I’ve always found them enjoyable. I’m eager to give this one a try when it’s out this fall.
