Oculus Rift virtual reality technology is coming to Chuck E. Cheese's.

The Oculus Rift will be used with a game called Chuck E. Cheese's Virtual Ticket Blaster Experience and will task players with grabbing as many tickets as they can in a virtual reality environment, which can then be exchanged for prizes.

"Kids today have unprecedented access to game consoles and tablets," Roger Cardinale, president of parent company CEC Entertainment said. "Our challenge is to deliver an experience not available at home, and there is no doubt virtual reality does just that. Oculus Rift technology is the next frontier in the gaming industry, and we're thrilled to be able to say it's part of the Chuck E. Cheese's lineup."

It's unclear exactly when we will start seeing Oculus Rift at Chuck E. Cheese.

Our Take
For a time, I lived in an age when arcade games offered far more impressive simulations than their home console counterparts. Younger gamers don't know the experience of having to leave the house to truly partake an innovative type of gaming, and I am excited that Oculus Rift will offer that in a small way. This will be an experience you won't be able to easily emulate at home, and it's exciting that communities of kids will be able to talk about and share it with their friends at a local arcade.
