Baseball And Boxing Heading To Japanese Wii Sports Club On Wii U Soon

by Kyle Hilliard on May 20, 2014 at 03:35 PM

Wii Sports Club, the HD sequel of sorts to Wii Sports for the Wii U, isn't complete yet – but it will be soon in Japan.

To date, both North America and Japan have only received three games of the promised five-game package. Tennis, golf, and bowling are all currently available, and baseball and boxing will be available on Japanese Wii Us starting June 27.

Nintendo has not revealed release dates for the North American release, but presumably they're not too far behind. Japan has also been promised a retail package of the games, with no word form Nintendo on whether we can expect a similar package.

Our Take
Wii Sports was a huge hit for Nintendo, but I haven't much excitement surrounding its Wii U sequel. For North America, at least, it seems like the games' motion-controlled charm may have expired.
