Microsoft Is Making Minecraft The Halo Game You’ve Always Wanted

by Mike Futter on May 19, 2014 at 03:22 PM

After merging Minecraft with Mass Effect, Skyrim, and even Marvel Super Heroes, Microsoft and Mojang are celebrating the recent announcement of Halo 5: Guardians. A new Halo mash-up pack is coming, and it will be a blast of nostalgia that’s sure to stick with fans.

The Halo Mash-up pack includes a new texture set, reskinned menus and interface, items that are reworked with a Halo flare, and 40 character skins. You’ll also get some Halo music and a new world that features some iconic locations from the series, including fan favorite map, Blood Gulch.

More information is coming later this week, and we’re hopeful that a release date is part of what we’ll find out. For now, you can click the screenshots featuring Sergeant Major Avery Johnson, some of the Spartans from Halo: Reach and Halo 4, and a particularly troublesome Monitor for a larger version.
