Trials Fusion's Day-One Patch Will Boost Resolution

by Ben Reeves on Apr 14, 2014 at 06:54 AM

RedLynx's next challenging bike platformer Trials Fusion will be set in the future, but the game isn't so futuristic that it runs at a perfect resolution without a patch.

When Trials Fusion releases tomorrow on Xbox One, it will run at a resolution of 800p, but a day-one patch will boost that number up to 900p.Thankfully, the patch won't hinder the games 60fps frame rate.

Interestingly, the game will run at 1080p and 60fps on PlayStation 4 at launch without a patch.

Trials Fusion releases on April 15 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, but PC players will have to wait until April 24. See what actor Erik Estrada, known for his role as a highway patrol motorcycle officer on Chips, thinks about the game here. Or read our review of the last Trials title here.

Our Take
This seems a little silly. This is the kind of stuff that causes fans of one system to trumpet their console as better than another, and while it's unfortunate the the game doesn't run equally as well on both consoles, it's nice to see that RedLynx is working to fix the problem. 900p is nearly indistinguishable from 1080p on most TVs anyway.
