Harmonix Announces Auto-Runner Record Run Mobile Game

by Ben Reeves on Apr 11, 2014 at 03:05 PM

At PAX East, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos said that the company isn't done with the Rock Band and Dance Central franchises, but that's not the only news coming out of the show from the company. The developer also announced a new auto-run game for mobile systems called Record Run.

Earlier today, Harmonix official twitter account announced the game,

It sounds like Record Run will take music already downloaded onto a players mobile device and then create an auto-run platforming level similar to Gaijin Games' Bit.Trip Runner series. Record Run will be a free-to-play title when it releases, but we don't have a date to pin to it just yet.

Our Take
I've always enjoyed Harmonix products even the company's previous iOS app, VidRhythm. Hopefully, the company will find some success with this new mobile game; the concept sounds solid enough.
