2K Bringing Evolve Demo, New Borderlands, And Firaxis Announcement To PAX East

by Jeff Cork on Apr 10, 2014 at 07:09 AM

If you're heading to Boston tomorrow for PAX East, there's a good chance that you're interested in video games. If that's the case, you're probably going to want to visit 2K Games' booth.

The publisher has a lot of stuff to keep visitors occupied starting tomorrow at 10 a.m. Eastern. First off, Turtle Rock's multiplayer shooter Evolve will be playable at booths #948 and #962. Look for the 20-foot-tall statue of the game's goliath monster, if you're lost.

Borderlands fans can visit the Moon theater (marked by a floating Hyperion space station), and get a first-look presentation of the recently announced Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. If you're up to it, you'll get a special loot-pass passport, which you can get stamped by performing various tasks. They include seeing the Borderlands demo, getting your photo taken with the Handsome Jack statue, and visiting NVIDIA's booth to play the Borderlands 2 Headhunter 5: Son of Crawermax DLC. Fill up your book, and you could win some limited-edition swag.

Saturday morning, Firaxis will be hosting a Games Mega Panel, which includes members of the Civilization and XCOM teams. 2K is promising the announcement of the studio's next triple-A title, too, so it should be worth checking out.

Check out 2K's blog for more information, including details on a community party.

Our Take
I always appreciate it when companies go the extra mile for their fans. There's a lot of cool stuff coming out from 2K, and it's great that they're giving people additional reasons to visit their booths.
