Watch Dogs Season Pass Listing Reveals Second Playable Character

by Mike Futter on Apr 09, 2014 at 03:20 AM

It should come as no surprise that Watch Dogs is getting a season pass. It’s an Ubisoft open-world game, after all.

It seems that the post-launch content for Watch Dogs will be taking a page out of the Assassin’s Creed IV playbook. Retailer GameStop is listing a season pass for the title that includes information about a new character. (Disclosure: GameStop is Game Informer’s parent company.)

A new playable character is becoming a trend for story-based DLC. Batman: Arkham City, The Last of Us, and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag all featured add-on content with a change in protagonist. We’ve reached out to Ubisoft for comment on this, and we’ll update should we receive a response.

Watch Dogs is due out on May 27 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. You can read a recent hands-on preview to get caught up on the latest details.

Our Take
There’s still much we don’t know about the Watch Dogs story and the characters with whom Aiden will interact. If this new character follows the Assassin’s Creed IV path, it will likely be someone we meet in the main game.
