Persona 3 Movie Receiving Subtitled Western Release

by Kyle Hilliard on Apr 09, 2014 at 04:30 AM

Popular anime publisher Aniplex is bringing Persona 3 The Movie #1: Spring of Birth to Blu-ray here in the United States.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your opinion on the matter), the film won't be receiving English voice-over, but it will have English subtitles. It will be available on May 20 in both collector's and standard editions for $79.98 and $59.98 respectively. The collector's edition includes a soundtrack CD, exclusive box art by Keisuke Watabe, newly illustrated cover art, a 48-page deluxe booklet, 10 super Persona 3 stickers, 4 key art illustration cards, and – exclusive to American buyers – an English translation booklet of the deluxe 48-page booklet. To reserve your copy, head here.

A sequel to this film is already on the way in Japan with a planned release for this summer.

Our Take
Persona is starting to become big business in both Japan and North America. I'm a little surprised the movie is taking as long as it is to make its way here, but I'm sure Persona fans will be glad to see it coming – even if it is a little pricey.
