Battlefield 4 Loadout Presets Coming April 8

by Mike Futter on Apr 07, 2014 at 12:30 PM

EA and DICE have announced a new way to manage your loadouts through Battlelog. A new preset feature will allow players to have complete sets of gear, eliminating the need to edit each slot individually.

Players will be able to set two custom loadouts for each kit and vehicle (Premium members get an extra two slots). Swapping out the different presets is handled with the Battlelog app on a tablet and can be done mid-game.

Presets can be given custom names and can be tailored to different situations. Loadouts can be accessed through that tab in the app and set to your game by selecting from the drop down menu. For more on Battlefield 4, check out our impressions of the most recent DLC pack, Naval Strike.

Our Take
This is a step closer to an ideal Battlefield experience, but I’m unclear why this can’t be handled on the controller. There is a Battlelog menu on each platform, and giving players the opportunity to select from custom loadouts mid-game without juggling a second device seems like a more intuitive solution.
