Super Mario Bros. 3, Slew Of GBA Games Fill Virtual Console In April

by Jeff Cork on Mar 26, 2014 at 04:07 AM

Nintendo has released its list of games that will be hitting the Virtual Console this April, and it's filled with Game Boy Advance titles and a little something called Super Mario Bros. 3.

The entire roster is pretty great, but the addition of the long-awaited Super Mario Bros. 3 is the big news. Last August, Nintendo announced that it would be arriving on the eShop, and it's been released in Japan and Europe already. On April 17, players in North America will be able to download it onto their Wii U and 3DS systems.

Here's the complete release schedule:

April 3

  • Advance Wars (Wii U, $7.99)
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (Wii U, $7.99)
  • Metroid Fusion (Wii U, $7.99)

April 10

  • Kirby & The Amazing Mirror (Wii U, $6.99)
  • WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! (Wii U, $6.99)

April 17

  • Super Mario Bros. 3 (Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, $4.99)
  • F-Zero: Maximum Velocity (Wii U, $6.99)
  • Golden Sun (Wii U, $7.99)

April 24

  • Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3 (Wii U, $7.99)

Our Take
Super Mario Bros. 3 is arguably the greatest of the side-scrolling Super Mario games, and it's about time that it's available in the eShop. The rest of the lineup is pretty great, too.
