The annual Game Developers Conference is host to a week's worth of historical perspective and forward-looking enthusiasm. It's also the temporary home to an exhibit of 25 years of gaming history.

The Video Game History Museum, a nonprofit organization with an impressive advisory board, including ID@Xbox lead Chris Charla, Atari founder Nolan Bushnell, and storied game designer Mike Mika. The organization doesn't have a permanent residence, which means that GDC is a rare opportunity to observe the artifact collection.

We have some highlights of the exhibit to share with you.
