by Kyle Hilliard on Mar 07, 2014 at 12:20 PM

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) will be awarding Rockstar its Academy Fellowship award on March 12, and Hideo Kojima will be the one presenting it to the studio.

The presentation will be part of the British Academy Games Awards ceremony in London on March 12. According to BAFTA, the Academy Fellowship award, "is the highest accolade bestowed by the Academy in recognition of an outstanding and exceptional contribution to film, television or games." Rockstar's Sam Houser, Dan Houser, Leslie Benzies, and Aaron Garbut will be on hand to accept the award. The even will be streamed online through Twitch here.

Hideo Kojima is a prolific game designer, but is best know for the Metal Gear Solid series. During our month of coverage for Metal Gear Solid V, we spoke to him about his upcoming game, as well as some of his favorite movies.

Our Take
It's always heartwarming to see overlap among our favorite game designers. Hideo Kojima has cited the Grand Theft Auto series on multiple occasions as the bar of game design he hopes to achieve. He even called out Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in an early trailer for Metal Gear Solid 3. It's an honor for Rockstar to receive the award, as much as it is for Hideo Kojima to present it.
